Feeding many of our creative projects, the Unpopular Archive gathers, preserves and repurposes media deemed “obsolete”: 16mm and 8mm film and projectors, filmstrips, VHS tapes, slides, vinyl, 78s and acetates.
The collection includes educational films, student film projects and home movies, early sound comedies and cartoons, celebrity LPs, classic Canadiana, and antique corporate propaganda.
We are available to present this original, analog material – much of which is in the public domain – as well as our own creative video, audio and collage work, wherever there is an audience. We can also sometimes facilitate private research sessions by request.
You can enjoy some samples of the archive on our Youtube playlist.
